Gift Cards for the Food Pantry – God’s Groceries
What Can I Do To Help My Neighbor?
With the continuing worldwide COVID19 affecting us all, many families in our community are having trouble putting food on the table. Many have lost their jobs or had their hours drastically cut. Even the Food Pantries are struggling to keep up with the need in our area. Those who are able have asked “what can I do to help my neighbor?”
Since we are not collecting items at St John’s until we return to regular services, we can offer another way to help those in need. By utilizing our Gift Card Program, we can help the Food Banks close the gap and help support the Church mortgage. Here is how it works:
Folks can send in whatever they can in the form of cash or check. Anything from $1 on up. We will use these funds to purchase $5, $10, and $20 gift cards for grocery stores and department stores which carry food. (Like Target and Walmart) The Food Pantry can distribute them with, or in place of, food items, depending upon their supply. Higher denomination cards can be used by the Food Pantry to replenish their supplies.
Please make the checks payable to: St. John’s UCC - Sunday School
